Galata Tower
(Galata Kulesi)
It is in Taksim (European Side). It was built on the highest point of city walls in 1384. Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi (First flying man of the world) had flight from this tower. It was used as a Dungeon and fire tower in the history. Now, there is a restaurant inside:) You can go to terrace by paying small amount of fee.

Hippodrome / Obelisk
(At Meydanı / Dikilitaş)
It is in Sultanahmet (Old Town) (European Side). It was built in 203. It was commissioned by Septimus Severus (just like Circus Maximus in Rome) for chariot races. It was enlarged by Constantine I in 325. The U-Shaped 450 m long and 130 m wide. It stands where capable of holding 100.000 spectators with 40 steps. There are 3 obelisks in the hippodrome.

Barbarossa Monument
(Barbaros Anıtı)
It is in Besiktas (European Side). It was built in 1941. Barbarossa is the greatest captain of the seas in Ottoman history. He lived in Sultan Solomons (Magneficient Solomon) ages.

Maiden's Tower
(Kız Kulesi)
Its in Üsküdar (Asian Side). It was built in B.C. 410. The legend is; the king had taken his daughter to Maiden’s Tower in order to protect her from any danger. But she was dead by a snake which came inside fruit basket.
There is a restaurant inside. You can go with a small boat. You can drink wine for a romantic moments:

Dolmabahce Clock Tower
(Dolmabahçe Saat Kulesi)
Its in Besiktas (European Side). It was built in 1890 by Sultan II Abdulhamit. Its 27 meter height. Has a watch each side. Have a photo under the tower just like every other city citizens in Turkey do:)

Republic Monument
(Cumhuriyet Anıtı)
Its in Taksim Square. It was built in 1928. The leader in the monument is Kemal Atatürk. He is the greatest leader in Turkish history. He established the “Republic” and give the woman vote rights in 1926. The monument Symbolize “Independence”.
